As mentioned, players want to change what Critter they have out they will have to abandon their current Critter. No, a single player cannot have more than one Critter at a time. Spoiled Food only gives 50% and Stale Food only gives 10%. Spoiled Food and Stale Food will give Critters less Hunger value. I would recommend feeding your Critter Glow Berries or Lesser Glow Berries as this will cause Critters to emit light for a short period of time. Players can feed Critters any resources that players can eat, including Rot and spoiled foods. Lesser foods will keep Critters full for about 2 days, while a Crockpot Recipe will keep the Critter full for longer. Lord knows why Critters get hungry, but when they do get ready for endless crying until you feed them again.Ĭritters can stay full for a maximum of 4.25 days, but not all foods will provide Critters will a completely full belly. IF CRITTERS CAN’T DIE, WHY DO THEY GET HUNGRY? Players will retain their Critter upon death or upon changing characters in the Celestial Portal, so don’t get too stressed out if you’re ever in either situation. Players can also simply abandon their Critter at the Rock Den if they do not wish to have a companion. Each critter requires 2 items to summon, one being a food item and another being an item/resource that relates to the specific Critter.Īs mentioned, no, Critters are pretty much immortal and the only way to get rid of one is to return to the Rock Den to trade for another one. HOW DO I GET PETS OR CRITTERS IN DON’T STARVE TOGETHER?Ĭritters can be accessed only using the Critters Tab while players are present at the Rock Den. There are currently a total of 7 Critters in Don’t Starve Together, each functioning in similar manners. Luckily, since Critters don’t provide any stat boost or major benefits to players, they are effectively immortal, requiring no protection or mechanics to keep alive. While Critters may look like they are damaging enemy Mobs, depending on their Traits, Critters are never able to attack or assist players in battle. WHAT ARE CRITTERS?Ĭritters are passive pets that are primarily aesthetic. The Rock Den, or Critter Cave, is the only area players will be able to access one of the many adorable sidekicks to join them on their adventures in The Constant. ![]() Upon first glance, it’s understandable why players may fear to be around it, but nothing could be further than the truth! You may have come along a cave with eyes peering out of it. There’s the reality that many items aren’t that interesting and everyone loves those moments they open their 6th skirt in a row, but there are some elements to DST that are worth the wait. I can’t deny that a big part of the reason I play Don’t Starve Together is for the novelty of the aesthetics and art direction.
